An independent 501(c)(3) corporation, the WVU Foundation is governed by the Board of Directors elected by its members. All serve without compensation. Currently, there are 29 members of the Board of Directors including the WVU president, who is a non-voting member. The WVU Foundation also has five directors emeritus, one honorary director and one advisory director, all of whom are non-voting.
