Thank you to all the supporters of the 2012 Pride Travel Fund. This year the Pride was able to travel to Washington D.C. September 15 and perform when the Mountaineers defeated James Madison at FedExField. Along with the football game, the Pride also is participating in several exhibition shows across the state and region this fall.
Since 2007- the first year of the Pride Travel Fund – donations have helped enable the band to travel to away football games at Auburn, Cincinnati, Connecticut, LSU, Louisville, Marshall, Pitt, Rutgers and Syracuse. Contributions also have helped the band to travel to exhibition shows and parades across West Virginia and surrounding states.

Being a member of the band has allowed me the opportunity to travel to some of the most tradition rich college football programs in the country. I would not trade the experiences I have had while traveling with the marching band for anything in the world. From a rain soaked game at Auburn, to watching a come from behind victory in Huntington, these will be memories I will remember for the rest of my life. |

My first band trip was to Mingo County where we performed in conjunction with the opening of the new Mingo Central High School. I'll never forget seeing the entire stadium (complete strangers to me) rise to their feet, clapping and cheering us on as we ran on and played 'Fight Mountaineers.' It was then that I saw how The Pride of West Virginia and its' reputation reaches all across the entire state. |

![]() | Some of my favorite memories from away-games include the compliments from opposing fans. During the 2010 LSU game, we received multiple compliments from LSU fans about our awesome performance. They were very sincere. It was so nice knowing that we left them with lasting, positive impressions about WVU. |
