ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - DONOR RELATIONS AND SPECIAL EVENTS

The West Virginia University Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization specifically designated to aid, further and support the work and purposes of West Virginia University, is seeking an Assistant Director - Donor Relations and Special Events for the Mountaineer Athletic Club.In this role, one is responsible for assigned activities within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at West Virginia University with a focus on assisting with the coordination of all special events, all donor stewardship activities and data entry for all non-annual fund gifts, as well as managing communication with donors, overseeing staff and executing game day and event day operations. This position will assist with all benefit related special events, hospitality, and recognition programs and other special events as assigned, including, but not limited to; programs held concurrently with athletic contests at WVU or opponent venues, the Coaches' Caravan, WVU Classic Golf Tournaments, sport-specific events, etc. They will also oversee the processing and acknowledgments of all sports specific gifts received by the Mountaineer Athletic Club, oversee the data input for all sport specific gifts in Paciolan ticketing/donor software system and oversee the communication plan for all events and sport specific solicitations. This Assistant Director will coordinate all sport-specific and non-annual fund giving programs, assist with all stewardship efforts for planned gifts and endowments and maintain a calendar for all special events and fundraising activities. They will also help with generating, processing and tracking all major gift agreements for the Mountaineer Athletic Club. The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following requirements: A Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for a Master's degree. Minimum of two to four years of progressive development experience. Experience with intercollegiate athletics, particularly Division I experience preferred. Must have knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. Must have the ability to maintain and develop personal relationships with all of the Athletic Department's and WVU Foundation's many constituencies, including donors, prospects, ticket holders, fans, student-athletes, professional representatives, coaches, vendors, media, and the University community. Must manage professional and personal time to handle time-sensitive issues, tight deadlines, extended hours beyond the normal workday, including work, travel and on-call availability.
