DIRECTOR OF INTERNAL AUDIT
WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION, INC.

The WVU Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization, has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Internal Audit. This position will oversee the Foundation’s internal audit program and direct a broad range of audit functions providing independent objective analysis and recommendations to Management and the Board of Directors.

The Director will test a broad range of information including accounting, investments, human resources, and compliance with operational policies and procedures. The Director will evaluate and test the overall design and effectiveness of business practices and controls over financial reporting and assist with the external audit. The position will report functionally to the Chair of the Audit Committee and administratively to the Chief Executive Officer.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, a CPA license and a minimum of 7-10 years of related experience. Candidates with external or internal auditing experience in the non-for-profit sector and experience with large investment portfolios or endowments are preferred. Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, leadership and organizational skills are required.
