EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
WVUF – WVU Children’s Hospital and Medicine
The Executive Director of Development is the Chief Development Officer for WVU Children’s Hospital and Medicine and is a key fundraiser for the WVU Foundation in the Health Sciences Center office of Philanthropy.The Executive Director will lead a team of nine dedicated professionals and represent WVU Children’s Medicine and Hospital in a range of venues and activities. Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Medicine and Health Sciences Development, the Executive Director will lead a comprehensive, integrated development program to an unparalleled level of accomplishment in support of the WVU Children’s mission. This position will also have a strong working partnership with the Director of Children’s Hospital and other members of the Hospital leadership team. As a lead development officer, this position exerts strategic leadership related to the engagement of high-potential prospects and campaign volunteers in support of the Children’s priority funding objectives. Currently, the top priority is an impressive $60M campaign to support the new Children’s Hospital. The ten-story tower, being built within the WVU Medicine complex, will add 150 beds to the State’s leading academic medical center. WVU Children’s is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of direct fundraising experience with a preference for previous work in an academic medical center or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in leading a staff required. Must have a proven track record as a successful individual fundraiser, having closed a significant volume of major gifts, ideally at the six and seven-figure level.
