Associate Vice President Development - HSC


The WVU Foundation seeks a dynamic and seasoned development professional to lead all fundraising components of the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center and its affiliates. The AVP needs to be capable of leading significant change in the fundraising operation by focusing the staff on major leadership and principal gift fundraising with an eye toward doubling fundraising results The AVP will be responsible for developing private gift support for the units of West Virginia University's Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center including the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health; the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, the Rockefeller Neurological Institute, West Virginia University Hospitals, Charleston, Children’s Hospital and Rosenbaum Family House. The ability to direct and/or gain support from unit Deans/Directors and assigned development staff for recommended long and short-range program goals and objectives, specific program plans, and major tactical objectives is required. Accomplishing this basic responsibility requires the leadership skill to advance development program objectives in a complex organizational environment and a broad knowledge of the academic health sciences.

•Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree required, Master's degree preferred and 10 years’ experience or a combination of education and of related experience.
