Development Program Assistant
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ASSISTANT
WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION, INC.
A key team member for the HSC Office of Philanthropy and WVU Foundation’s Central Development, the Development Program Assistant contributes to the overall fundraising success, with a goal to increase private gifts for the Health Sciences schools and units, through programmatic support. Activities include, but are not limited to: providing administrative fundraising support, and assisting with identifying, researching, developing, qualifying, cultivating, advancing the solicitation of, and stewarding prospects, and donors. The position supports Health Sciences Development staff in the programmatic areas of donor relations, special events, annual giving, corporate/foundation, major, planned and leadership giving, communications, and the Grateful Patient Friends and Families Program, as well as the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, (including regional campuses in Charleston and Martinsburg), Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, institute’s for Cancer, Neurosciences, Heart and Vascular, Eye, the Rosenbaum Family House and WVU Medicine Children’s as needed. This position is an important component of the Health Sciences OOP and the WVU Foundation. Quantifiable performance expectations are part of annual performance objectives.
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two (2) to four (4) years of administrative support experience in a fundraising focused environment, with a superior software skill set (Microsoft Office Suite – Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel) required. The following software experience is a plus - fundraising related software, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
