Outstanding Philanthropists
WVU FOUNDATION PHILANTHROPY AWARDS
The WVU Foundation Board of Directors recognizes and awards donors for their exceptional generosity, commitment and leadership, and proven records of outstanding civic and charitable devotion to the University. Three of the four awards were established in 2005 to commemorate the WVU Foundation’s 50th anniversary. The fourth award (Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation) was established in 2009. Following is a listing of award criteria for each recognition:
Hazel Ruby McQuain Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation
To qualify for this award, a foundation must demonstrate outstanding commitment through its financial support and engagement of others in activities that support and advance philanthropy at West Virginia University.
Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation
To qualify for this award, a corporation must demonstrate outstanding commitment through its financial support and engagement of others in activities that support and advance philanthropy at West Virginia University.
Outstanding Volunteer Philanthropist
This individual should demonstrate exceptional leadership skills in coordinating and motivating other donors to follow their philanthropic lead for the benefit of WVU. He/she should serve as a fundraising volunteer, teacher, or mentor, while demonstrating exceptional commitment to the advancement of the University.
Milan Puskar Outstanding Philanthropist
This award is presented to an individual with a proven record of exceptional generosity and outstanding civic and charitable responsibility. His/her generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles - all for the betterment of West Virginia University.
