Emil Czul (pronounced “Sewell”), a late West Virginia University alumnus raised in Lochgelly and a 1950 graduate of Oak Hill High School, is making certain that future generations from Fayette County will not struggle to afford college as he did. 

Inspiring and supporting young entrepreneurs as they pursue their dreams, Nesha Sanghavi is paying it forward in the form of a major gift to the West Virginia University College of Business and Economics. 

A new college-wide scholarship will help West Virginia University students at the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design get important financial support. 

The Marc Bulger Foundation, established by the former WVU and NFL quarterback for whom it is named, has donated $100,000 to the WVU Medicine Children’s capital campaign. 

West Virginia University students studying at the  Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Design will have new opportunities to thrive with the establishment of a  charitable remainder unitrust by Donald and Beverly Baker.

A $50,000 scholarship has been established to support graduate students at West Virginia University.

Bircher is the founder and president of MMI Textiles, Inc. based just outside of Cleveland, Ohio.

Graduating in 1993 from the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Design, Bircher went into the family business of textiles, working for her father and stepmother, Jim and Karen Bircher at National Dye Works in South Carolina. Four years later she founded MMI Textiles, Inc., with the letters representing “Me, Myself, and I”.

The former students of a staple in the West Virginia University Department of Accounting are giving back to the College and University to honor his work and to look to the future of the industry. The gift is given in honor of Robert S. Maust, who retired in 2013 after more than 50 years at the College of Business and Economics and made a tremendous impact on the lives of countless accounting students.

West Virginia University is one of 10 higher education institutions in the United States to be awarded an Innovation Fund grant to grow study abroad partnerships with Argentina.
