WVU fashion, dress and merchandising alumna establishes scholarship

Bircher is the founder and president of MMI Textiles, Inc. based just outside of Cleveland, Ohio.

Graduating in 1993 from the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Design, Bircher went into the family business of textiles, working for her father and stepmother, Jim and Karen Bircher at National Dye Works in South Carolina. Four years later she founded MMI Textiles, Inc., with the letters representing “Me, Myself, and I”.

The former students of a staple in the West Virginia University Department of Accounting are giving back to the College and University to honor his work and to look to the future of the industry. The gift is given in honor of Robert S. Maust, who retired in 2013 after more than 50 years at the College of Business and Economics and made a tremendous impact on the lives of countless accounting students.
