Cincinnati-area fundraising event boosts cancer research via Huggins memorial fund

Linda and Pete Zulia (from left) present a donation to WVU Men’s Basketball Coach Bob Huggins and WVU Cancer Institute Director Hannah Hazard-Jenkins at the 2020 Bob Huggins Fish Fry. The funds were contributed by the Zulias, their employees and business partners to benefit the Norma Mae Huggins Endowment at the WVU Foundation.

WVU’s top seniors named, eight honored with 2021 Order of Augusta

An international student who has immersed himself in the “cultural heartbeat” of his new community, a first-generation student graduating with a cumulative 4.0 grade-point average who had no access to high school college-prep courses and a Black woman who aspires to bridge the gap between research and clinical care to improve health disparities are among the graduating seniors to receive West Virginia University’s highest student honor, the Order of Augusta

These eight students are among 50 named WVU Foundation Outstanding Seniors.

WVU Medicine Grateful Patients program provides $10K to help West Virginians plan for end-of-life care

The Grateful Patients, Families and Friends program recently contributed $10,000 to ensure the West Virginia Center for End-of-Life Care can continue to provide free information, education and resources to help West Virginians document their wishes for medical care.

Established in collaboration with the West Virginia University Foundation, the Grateful Patients, Families and Friends program provides opportunities for individuals, family members and friends to recognize the exceptional care provided by WVU Medicine physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.
